Jake

Hello,
I know this probably not the right place to email,
but it was the only email address I was given.

Let me start of by saying that I work at an Animal Shelter in Fall River MA. We have a very special boy here with three legs
and are having the toughest time finding him a home.

He is sweet and loving and has been through a lot.

My reason for writing is this, I am wondering if you have a network of people who may be interested in another 3 legged dog.

He is just over a year old.
He is a dobie/hound mix.

He has lots of spunk and needs a gentle leader when he goes for a walk. He lived with a cat, but so far, seems not overly found of other dogs. Basically, he will try to cage fight with the other dogs when he walks through the kennel, but has not met one face to face without a barrier.

He had fractured his leg this past winter when he fell on it wrong. The person who had him could not afford car for him, so I took him into the shelter. We pinned his leg hoping that he would recover.

After 12 weeks, the bone was mending, but it was obvious that there was too much nerve damage and the leg had to be removed to save him. Please let me know if you can help or not. I have attached his picture so that you can see what he looks like.

Thank you for your time,

UPDATE:

Hi Cynthia,
You are not going to believe this.... Someone came in after I had emailed you, and fell in love with him. Much time spent with us and the man and his family and what do you know... Jake just went home this morning.

After months and months of being here with zero interest.
It seems like a very good match. Thank you for your help.

Peanut

Hi,
This is Peanut. She's almost 10 years old and she still loves to play ball -- she doesn't ever bring it back!

Peanut says, "I lost my leg when I was 4 years old.
I jumped off the back of a pickup truck when my uncle took me to the farm to play and I landed on my leg the wrong way. So I couldn't feel it any more. Next thing I knew, I was having surgery to have it removed because the vet told my mom that there was too much nerve damage."
Peanut's awesome. She still jumps in the air and twirls when she catches the ball and then she takes off with it. She still shakes hands with people and she loves to stand up on her hind legs and dance.
Now that she's older, she gets tired more easily.

She's excited to have a bunch of new friends in Cassie's Club!
Thanks.

Gaby
